Michigan Flooring and Handle Manufacturing Company

The Michigan Flooring and Handle Manufacturing Company's mill at Summit, Grand Traverse County was commenced in September 1883, and was started to work in February 1884. They have the capacity of ten to fifteen thousand broom handles, and the sawmill a capacity of ten to fifteen thousand feet of lumber per day. Twenty-five to thirty men were employed in the beginning.
