Myron Taylor passed on Friday eve, February 6. Funeral Feb 9.
Emma went to hospital January 19 and came home January 29.
Helen Vukonich baby born Feb 8. named Judith Anne
February 16. Sarah Avery had a stork on this day and died the morning of the 17th at Dessie's home at Port Huenema, Cal.
February. Bert Wilson buried.
Frank Wilson died March 3. Funeral at the Hibbard Funeral Home, March 5 with Tennant Min. Burial at Kingsley Cemetery.
Jake Seegmiller died in April.
Mark Case died April in California and was buried there.
Jay Brown died, funeral May 5
Tony Weber died from injuries in auto accident May 5 burial May 7
Ethel and mother came North with Earnie Wheat Sat. May 1
Went down to see them Sunday morning & Ava & Forrest & children called on us late afternoon.
May 17, Miss ___ ? and two young ladies called.
May 21, Mrs Armantha Clark died. Funeral May 24th. Went to Manton for funeral with Taylor's.
Mr. Chet Van Pelt died very suddenly while milking cows and was buried May 28.
Eileen Brautigam married May 29
Otto Brautigam & wife & Harold & Pearl called on us after the wedding.
Took George (husband) to the Hospital evening of May 31. Had a bad hemorrhage
Donna's wedding June 4. Reception at school house in evening
Ava & Forrest call late Wednesday & Saturday afternoons to inquire about George (husband).
Craig's called Saturday June 5 house hunting
(out of order in book) Brought George home from hospital Friday, June 11. He seems to be much better.
Josephine came up Monday June 7 and stayed until Wednesday. We went up to see George on Tuesday June 8.
Saturday June 12 Rex Henschell called on George.
Forrest and Ava gave us another call on June 19.
Sunday June 13 Novra & Earl & family were over to see us.
John McCarthy died June 17.
George went to the hospital for a blood transfusion June 24. Was there just a few hours.
Janith, Bob & Dorothy came up from Detroit June 26.
Carrie Hammet & George Spaulding called here July 12. Also Grant Rollo.
Spent Sunday July 18 at the Interlochen Park. Had dinner and supper there and went to see George at the hospital. We had taken him there the day before. July 17
Dave Hammer ? Had a very tragical death on his forty south of us July 18.
George was to hospital a week came home Sat July 24. He seemed a little better but as soon as the effects of the hypos given at the hospital wore off he seemed to weaken bodily until Thursday July 29 at 6:30 P. M. he passed away.
Funeral was Monday afternoon August 2
Josephine was here with us.
Carl Brown died Monday July 26, Funeral was Saturday, July 31.
Guy & Eva Fewless were up from Hastings for George's funeral.
Dorothy came back Aug 12 bringing Bobby Jr. with her.
Aug 21. Vina Letson called by telephone from Fife Lake.
Helen Hammontree made me a short visit the afternoon of the above date.
Thursday, the 19th was down to Pearl's and staid with mother while she, Pearl, went to a Sunday School Picnic. Luella was there too and we had a nice visit.
Beulah Patton Poe's baby girl born August 17. Named Beulah Pearl.
Heard Bodine preach at F. M. Church Sat. eve Sept 4.
Monday, Sept 6 was Uncle Arthur's birthday and also Mr & Mrs Sam Weaver's 64th Wedding Anniversary.
Josephine came up Sunday the 12th and stayed until Monday afternoon.
Charlie Valencourt's wife died Sept. 5th in Oregon.
Monday, Sept. 27 was Uncle George's Birthday. 85 yrs old. sent him a card
Went over to Ava's and stayed a week coming home Oct 5. Went to Sunday School at Cornell Church Oct. 3. Mother was over to Ava's too.
Sunday, October 24 Roy took me down to church heard Miss Quinn preach. Went over to Lilly's staid for dinner and Supper. Heard Parson's preach in evening. Called on Mrs. Hammnondtree in afternoon. Stayed to Lilly's till Monday P. M. Called on Parson's. Mrs. - Mrs. Porter & Mr. & Mrs. U. Baker walked on over to Bernice's & had supper & Roy brought me home.
Thelma Davis' Lueck baby born October 22-- named Ronald Julius.
Thursday Oct 28 shopped in Traverse City.
November 24 went down to Ethel's with Donna & Norman. Went to church Sunday evening at Godwin Heights Free Methodist Church. Spent Wednesday downtown in the Rapids stores. Thursday went over to Darlene's for Thanksgiving day dinner and over to Beth's at Wayne on Friday. Saturday went to Northville to see Uncle George and Maud & Betty. Stayed there Saturday night and back home to Ethel's on Sunday. Went down to Guy & Eva's on bus Sunday eve and they brought me back to Ethel's Tuesday evening. Went down and over to Donna's Thursday. Came back home Sat. Dec 4.
Sunday went down to Pearl's and visited with Charley Valencourt coming back home Mon. P.M.
Went down to church Sunday Dec 19 - Ursula was there and invited me with her for dinner. Took me over to Pearl's at 4 P.M.
Christmas Day we had dinner over to Ava's - Ethel- Pearl - Lillian and I. Ava's father there too. Ethel and I stayed over till Monday. Ethel went back to Grand Rapids 27th
1949 Guests & Events
Was home nearly all the month of January. Was down to Mabel Taylor's the 13th to Baptist Aid. They had a Birthday card - shower for me - Received 15 cards.
Made three trips to Traverse City with Roy for eye-testing and glasses.
Went to church Sundays 9th and 16th. Sydney Weaver passed away Jan 16th. Funeral Jan 20th.
Brought mother over to Pearl's from Ava's Jan 27th to be nearer Dr.
Ben Chapple, died suddenly Rueben Wilson the 4th and fifth of February.
Went down to Pearl'sThursday10th and stayed till Saturday P.M. Went over to church to Family night, Friday 11th. Isla had a shower for Delores this same night.
Thursday Feb 17 at Ed Geiger's Missionary meeting at the Methodist church Friday Feb 18th. Went down to the meeting and over to Pearl's and stayed untill Sunday P.M. Mother slowly getting weaker was down to Pearl's about 10 days helped her with work caring for mother. They took mother over to Lillie's Tuesday, Mar 1st. She seems better.
Sunday March 6 - rode to church with Mr. Chappell.

Went to W.S.C.S Thursday March 3, Scripture Lesson 12th chapter of Romans with round table discussion Very interesting.
March 26 - Have been to church every Sunday this month. Also Monday night the 14th, Wednesday night the 16th and all day Friday to Holiness Association meetings. Heard some good sermons.
Was done to see mother several times. She is much brighter but seems weak and looks thinned in flesh.
The snow is nearly gone and it is raining today.
The robins have arrived but I haven't see any yet.
Have finished the quilt today and mad Bonnie and I each a slip. Counted 35 bloomers on the Petunies in the window.
March 27 went to church with Chappells. Bob & Dot and Bobby Jr. were down for the day
April- went to church Sunday the 3rd 10th and 17t, Been down to see mother twice. Went to Traverse City once.
We had 2 quite hard snow storms on Thursday the 7 also 14th snow all gone to-day April 20.
We have three nice calves, 2 heifers & 1 bull. Sold one peg and butchered the other one.
April 20 - Went to Cadillac to a Sub-district Conference with Miss Quinn- Martha went also. Heard talks on China by Glenn Frys and on Albion College who said he was a Baptists but attended a Methodist College.
April 24 - Did not go to church Sunday. Went down to see Mother Monday the 25th. Otherwise I have been home. Worked in the flower garden some - cut rug rags and washed on Friday the 29th.
Attended W. S. C. S. at Grace Weaver's Thursday 28th.
May 1 - Went to church & called on Mother & Pearl in evening
Thursday Pearl cam up to help make soap, Bob & Dorothy and Donna & Norman here Sunday. Also Bob & Dot were down Thursday and stayed over night went back to T.C. Friday A.M.
Roy went to Sutton's Bay Friday the 13th of May
Josephine spent a few days with us going home Saturday May 14th.
Went to Sunday church services & ate dinner with Pearl and over to see Mother. Went with Pearl down to see Mrs. Hammondtree & Lola.
Tuesday Eve went down to Pearl's and Alfred droves us over to Spider Lake. Chas. Valencourt & wife, Pearl & I. A pleasant little trip. Came back home Wednesday A. M>
The lilacs are beautiful now. Sunday May 8, Bernice N. took Pearl and I out to the cemetery I took a bouquet out to put on George's grave. The Valencourt's started back fro Oregon May 24th.
Saturday May 21st went down to Ashton to visit the Peterson's. Went to Sunday School at 10 A.M. and heard Mr. Peterson preach in the evening. Topic "The Essentials of a Christian Life - Faith - Hope
Church attendance & prayer. Food for much thought. Came home Monday.
Thursday, 25th went to W.S.C.S at McCurdy's. Janith came today for a short visit over Memorial Day.
Friday P. M. went out to the cemetery to rake the dead grass off from our lot. Fixed Ethel's flowers on her lot.
Went down to F. M. Church Sunday morning and ate dinner over to Pearl's and visited mother in P. M. Emma came after me and we took our beautiful bouquets out to the cemetery. 7 bouquets. Put a large one on George's- one on Glenn's & Julia's -George's father and mother's. John's and Bert's.
Today the 30th I went to exercises at the cemetery - Prof. Robinson gave the address. Potted Amarliys and Geraniums this P.M.
Sunday June 5. Rode down to church with Mr. Chappel. Heard Orville Chance a Gideonite preach. A good sermon. This afternoon we took some fresh bouquets to cemetery.
Mr. Hackman died the latter part of May. Since that time four women of this vicinity were interred in out Cemetery. Mrs. Huffman Tharpe, Mrs. Winnie Manigold, Mrs. Adam Hoeflin and Mrs. Corintha Box Von Renn_ _.
Florence Baldwin was to the hospital for cancer operation- getting along very well. Emma and I sent her a card and called on her after she came home. Isla was to the hospital for surgery and is getting along fine.
Lorraine & Bud's baby born June 21, weight 4 1/2 lbs; a boy name _
June 9 W.S.C.S meeting held at Mrs. Myron Taylor's and June 23 at Mrs. Chas. Wood's. Emma & I attended the later.
Today, July 1, Emma's sister and husband and another couple from Port Huron visited us. A very hot day. Roy has gone to Detroit after Janith and will miss seeing them. Roy and Janith cam home Saturday evening arriving at 7 P.M.
Sunday, July 3. Another memory day of George's birthday. Went down to church in the morning. Was home the rest of the day. Roy went to T.C. and got Bob, Dot and little Bobby. Bob's vacation and he is helping Roy some. Earl H. is doing the haying for Roy.
Went to church Sunday - ate dinner at Lillian's and visited a little with mother.
Saturday, July 16. Our 52 Wedding Anniversary- busy with various tasks nearly all day. Cut over some old apron patterns and cut out one apron.
Sunday went to Church Service and a minister from Harbor Springs preached on "The Good Shepard, Psalm 23. Came home for dinner and visited in afternoon with Lily, mother & Pearl while Roy & family went to Traverse City.
July18th Roy went to Traverse City and Emma washed.
Donna came Wednesday and did her washing Thursday and I went down to Grace Weaver's to W.S.C.S.
Friday we all went to Traverse City.
Saturday I washed. Norman came Saturday morning and stayed till Monday a.m. He is gone to Grand Rapids to work and will move there as soon as they can find a house.
Sunday went to church.
Tuesday was called down to mother's as Lily was sick. Stayed until Thursday P. M. Came home and got ready to go to camp meeting Friday afternoon. Fred Scott took us down and Lily and I stayed down until Sunday night and they took me over to see Josephine visiting there until Friday afternoon. Roy came down and brought me home.
Leon's barn burned down (Aug 2) Tuesday about 1 o'clock.
Enjoyed camp meeting very much. Thought it a blessed privilege to be present at Mamie Clark's healing. Rev. Boyd's sermon on Sunday P.M. cleared up some questions in my mind. Step in Christianity-Repentance-Consecration- Sanctification and Glorification - Conversion
August 7th. Went to church was down town twice called on Pearl and Mother. Friday afternoon rode to Traverse City with Maggie and Ed Rawlings. Pearl went to see Dr. Merriot who confirmed Dr. Fenzel's opinion as to her health condition. Also went to Courthouse to see Judge Meggison.
Sunday August 14th, Went to church. Miss Quinn preached a very good sermon. She is having some trouble within the church which we hope maybe amicably adjusted.
Pearl went to hospital for her operation and got a long fine being there ten days.
Previous to Pearl's hospitalization Isa had an operation for rupture and piles.
Sunday we of the Methodist Church went over to the Malchett [sic] Church for a pot-luck dinner and listened to a very inspiring sermon by Miss Quinn.
Thursday Sept 8. Went to W.S.C.S meeting down to Lillian Taylor's.
Didn't attend the conference at Traverse City or Rally Day program on account of illness.
Sept 22 Rode over to Wood's to W.S.C.S Meeting.
Sept 29 we all went to Traverse City and that P. M> Cassie called at place so I missed seeing her as they started back to California next day.
Sunday Oct 9. (We- Roy and family and I.) went for a ride in the lovely autumn out of doors. We took the Arbutus Road out over the hills toward Spider Lake. The woods were beautiful with color and the poplies were a lovely yellow. We stopped at Harold Wilson's [Could be Mayfield Store] and purchased ice cream cones for all of us. We came into Traverse City from the east and went north along West Bay Shore and thru Sutton's Bay and ate our dinner at a roadside table a mile or so North of Sutton's Bay. Then we went west to Lake Leelanau and then took a route that brought us back to Traverse City from there coming home by way of Keystone Road. There were beauty spots all along the roads and the sumach was fiery red like Poinsettas in so many places by the road. Enjoyed it a lot.
Mrs Porter died and was buried about the 15th
Sunday the 16th we went to Grand Rapids to see Donna who was injured in a bad wreck. I went along and stopped at Ethel's to visit with mother.
Wednesday Eve went down and helped with chicken supper.
Sunday, Oct 23. Went down to church this morning. Also attended church Sundays Oct 30 and Nov 6 and Nov 13.
Mrs. Huffman died Nov 5 and Mrs. Mary Geiger Chapple was buried Monday Nov 14. Services at Summit Church.
Wednesday the 9th went down and helped Pearl fix her quilt top. staid overnight and went to W.S.C.S. meeting.
Thursday P.M. at Mrs. Lillian Taylor's. The preceding meeting of the Women's Society was at Martha H. we tied a comforter fro Miss Quinn. Florence Bachman called on me November 5th
Otto and Frances were here last Sat forenoon, Nov 12. Was so very glad to see them all.
Went to church Nov 6 and 13th but did not go the 20 or 27. Spent Thanksgiving at home. Had a chicken dinner and little Bobby was our only guest. Dorothy being in the hospital.
Iva Bogart A/Ultz? was buried Friday Nov 18th.
The sun is shining most of the day Sunday 27th but last night we had a heavy snow storm. Donna and Norman went home to-day. The snow from this storm nearly melted away
but Monday Dec 5 Ethel called up and wanted me to come down and help her as she had another clot in her leg. It started to snow when I left on the bus about 6 P.M. and the ground was covered with snow all the way to G. R. Stayed down there two weeks getting home before Christmas. Had a nice visit with mother and Ethel.
Had a nice Christmas day Entertained Bob and his friend and wife and baby for dinner Monday P.M.
